GNC takes us into the public elementary schools, after school
hours. We teach bible stories that have the gospel message
told through out the story. At the end of the story there is
an invitation given. We sign songs, play games, have a memory
verse, treasure box prize, snack and prayer. When a school
allows us to host a club we, as a church, adopt that school.
We pray for them, help them with special projects if asked and
reach out to form relationships with administrators, staff,
students and families.
We, as a church, pray for our adopted schools. Our prayers
usually sounds like this: Father, I ask that you surround the
schools with your angels, protect all who go in and out their
doors. Bring peace and unity to the staff, students, parents and
volunteers, bless them all. Cause all decisions being made to be
the best for the children involved. Open hearts and minds to you
and your message. Thank you Lord. Amen.
For the duration of the summer months the church collects Box
Tops for Education, Campbell's Soup UPC's and can tabs. There are
drop of containers in the Heirport Check-In Lobby. When
school starts back we pick one of our adopted schools to receive
them.
Last July we had a Backpack Roundup. We collected backpacks and
supplies to distribute to our adopted schools. It was a
simple and practical way to let the schools, children and families
see the love of Christ. We are hoping to do the Backpack
Roundup again this coming July.
With the GNC we have an awesome opportunity to put prayer,
worship and God's Word back in our schools! Through the GNC
ministry we can share the Good News of Jesus Christ with hundreds
of children that might not ever visit a church. If you would
like to be part of this, or just want more information please
contact us at grace4u@the-harvest.org.
