Tamra Roland
My name is Tamra Roland, and my home church is The Harvest. I
work for an organization called Young Life in Thomasville, Georgia.
Thomasville is a small town in South Georgia. Young Life seeks to
minister to middle and high school students who are disconnected or
disinterested in church. We do that by going to them, on their
turf, and building lasting relationships with them. After we have
built the bridge of trust with a student, we seek to show them that
their life has purpose and that the God of the Universe wants to
have a personal relationship with them. We believe that every kid
has the right to hear the Gospel in a way that they can
understand.
Currently, Young Life in Thomasville ministers to over 100
middle and high school students each week. I will be working here
for the next three years. During that time, we hope to expand our
ministry into our neighboring county, Grady County, and into
another high school in Thomasville. We will also be recruiting and
training volunteer leaders in order to reach more students.
