Willie & Lydia Crew
Willie & Lydia Crew founded the World Mission Centre in
Pretoria, South Africa in 1989 and now serve as the international
team leaders.
Willie is a sought after public speaker and a world renowned
mission strategist who works tirelessly to mobilize thousands of
Christians to reach those that have not heard the Gospel.
Traveling extensively allows him to meet with many international
Christian and secular leaders. This not only gives Willie a broad
overview of what God is doing in the world but also gives him a
keen understanding of events in the international arena.
He and Lydia have been married for 37 years and have three
married children all serving the Lord in ministry.
About our ministry
The World Mission Centre's operational centre is situated in
Pretoria, South Africa with offices in the Ukraine, India and the
USA. Through these offices World Mission Centre operates in 39
countries.
Realizing the need to "think new", the goal of World Mission
Centre is to design, test and implement innovative, cutting-edge,
mission strategies. With a broad base of international contacts and
an understanding of how the local church operates, WMC is
determined to establish a global, local-church-driven mission
network that will impact the final frontiers in missions today.
The foremost strategic tool used by the World Mission Centre is
the Live School, consisting of 240 hours of mission training on
cutting edge technology available in English, Russian, Arabic and
Swahili. Live School is being used to train hundreds of
missionaries in the countries where these languages are spoken.
Although the Church in the developing world is growing at a
staggering rate, it faces a serious problem: it is growing faster
than leaders can be identified and trained. As Willie Crew
says, "If we are going to get ahead of the rising tide of untrained
leadership, we need to go to the local church, to empower the local
church pastor to train his own congregation before releasing them
to minister." Live School meets the challenge head on by being
available to local pastors and it is feasible to use under almost
any conditions.
Live School currently has 293 schools in 39 countries in the
Commonwealth of Independent States, East Africa, North
Africa/Middle East, South America, southern Africa, West Africa and
India. It is available in English, Russian, Arabic and Swahili.

Live School is an outcome-based curriculum that is portable,
affordable, and appropriate for many socio-economic levels. It
focuses on the individual's spiritual health and character
development, on Biblical teachings, on cross-cultural ministry, and
on community upliftment. Live School has been translated into
Russian, Swahili and Arabic and is currently being rolled out
in various countries of southern Africa, East Africa, West Africa,
South America, India (in English) the Former Soviet Union and is at
the beginning stages of being rolled out in the Arab world.
Since Live School trains local nationals, there are no or few
cultural and language barriers to overcome, and the teaching is
conducted where a foreign person may not be welcome. Nationals
already have an arena of influence, a support base, and are in a
position to work toward church planting and community
development.
The uniqueness and strategy of Live School is its vision to
train trainers, who in turn will train others, often living in
difficult places, to become leaders of house churches.
- LIVE SCHOOL is taught on-site, eliminating the need for
expensive travel.
- LIVE SCHOOL is 'under the radar,' easy to take into
inaccessible areas/countries.
- LIVE SCHOOL provides practical education with in-the-field
training.
- LIVE SCHOOL is taught by experienced international
practitioners, successful in their respective fields.
- LIVE SCHOOL is completely Biblical, but not
denominational.
- LIVE SCHOOL is appropriate for many socio-economic levels.
How can you be involved
- We are looking for mature Christians who can assist on a
volunteer basis to help communicate with existing Live Schools and
establish new ones in various world regions.
- Obviously a ministry involved in so many of the difficult
countries of the world need significant financial resources.
- From time to time there is need to have people go on a short
term outreach trip to carry equipment to those intending to start
Live Schools.
- Prayer is the most important request we have. Our staff and
especially the students that have graduated or who are on outreach
in dangerous places need to constantly be bathed in prayer.
- We would gladly supply up to date prayer requests to anyone
that would like to pray. Please contact our international prayer
coordinator, Chrissie Naude at chrissien@liveschoolsa.org
